…the favorite
have you ever been the favorite child…friend…employee…parent? do you have a favorite…child…friend…employee…parent?   wonder how the child…friend…employee… parent that isn’t your favorite would feel if they found out?  how would you feel as an adult if you found out that you weren’t your mom’s, dad’s favoite? maybe you did find out. how did it make you feel?
do you think that GOD has favorites?  i’m in real trouble if HE likes tall people better than short ones. or people under 200 lbs better than people over 200 lbs. or people who live in the bible belt better than someone in las vegas.  or someone who has a new car better than someone who drives a car with 155,000 miles on it.  or someone who seems to never make mistakes better than someone who seems to make a mistake every hour.  or someone who pastors a church that has a $2,000,000.00 or more building or a pastor who may never have a building.  ÂÂ
do you think any of that matters to GOD? do you think that someone who goes to church every sunday is GOD’s favorite over someone who is gay or had an abortion? do you think that someone who is married is GOD’s favorite over someone who is divorced? do you think GOD’s favorite is a republican or a democrat? do you think GOD’s favorite is an islam or a nazarene?ÂÂ
do you think GOD has favorites? do you thinks HE cares if we have favorites? a look at james 2:1-12 might give us the answer.

I hear you!
I came across a revolutionary concept the other day…..”for God so loved the world”
Ain’t it grand!

It’s really hard to overcome our human nature…. we want to love each one… as long as it doesn’t mean we actually have to “know them”. Our communities are circles… those who have the ability to move out further and further do… to gated communities and block walls… what you don’t have to see you don’t have to think about. I know that God must really hurt in his heart to see us doing the same things that he warned against so many times in his word.
