the front porch…

do you have a front porch on the place where you live? i don’t. i just drive in my garage and push my remote and close everyone off. i don’t like that.  i want a front porch where i live so i can reach out to my neighbors and connect with them especially where they hurt.

i don’t have a front porch at home but i do have one in my life.  it is called starbucks.  i went to 2 different ones today and i touched some hurting people.  i love it when GOD uses my availability to touch hurting, lonely, aimless people. and when he uses others to reach out to me when i am hurting, or on a loneliness trip or when i am wandering around.

i am so glad that i have a front porch.  come to think about it, isn’t that what GOD wants the church to be? but i’m afraid that many times we are more like a garage.
